“Nutritional yeast” – “Saccharomyces cerevisiae” is a natural, nutritional supplement in the form of yeast flakes. A complete source of protein, essential amino acids, B vitamins, as well as potassium, chromium and selenium. Food yeast is used as a seasoning in vegetarian cuisine.

The taste of food yeast resembles cheese with nutty notes.

Application:

Nutritional yeast is rich in nutrients that are often lacking in vegetarian and vegan diets. They also do not contain gluten, soy and sugar, which makes it an excellent dietary supplement for people with food intolerance. Due to its cheese-nutty taste, food yeast can be added to almost all dishes and snacks to obtain additional protein, vitamins, minerals and antioxidants.

Vegan Sauce Recipe

Ingredients:                                   

Nutritional ( inactive) yeast — 2 tbsp

Cashews — 1/5 cup

Boiled water — 1/5 cup

Lemon juice — 2 tbsp.l.

Garlic — 1 tooth. (to taste)

Salt — to taste

Turmeric — 1/5 tsp

Olive oil — 1 tbsp.l.

Cooking method:

Put all the ingredients in a blender and grind to a creamy texture. Add more spices or yeast to taste if you want to change the consistency of the sauce.
